HTZ is a sheltered workshop, therefore referred to employment of impracticable employed persons with work-related disability. In order to remain a productive and humane invalidity corporation, up-to-date working methods and policy making must be constantly initiated. They will bring a firm to desired goals and perform the firm’s mission, which is:

1. Appropriate, long-term and productive employment, training and education of invalids.
2. Long-term assurance of optimal programmes which support the process of extracting of coal in Velenje Coal Mine.
3. Creating and developing new programmes with higher value added in order to attain favourable economic results and to assure new workplaces.
4. Socially responsible handling with internal and external environment.

1. To remain contemporary, developmentally oriented learning firm that is going to increase its competitive ability and its market share in Slovenia and abroad through its innovative manufacturing and service programmes.
2. To remain the most competitive, the biggest, and the best supplier of services, products and equipment for Velenje Coal Mine.
3. To assure quick and constant growth of external realization with simultaneous strengthening of business efficiency in the firm.
4. To assure new workplaces suitable for productive employment of workers with limits.

Through strategically-developed plan, HTZ is oriented towards strengthening of its status as a sheltered workshop with its stress on developmental function. The key to success lies in intensive development, searching, identification and implementation of all the activities which goal is to establish new, market-interesting programmes with higher added value that are going to assure good business results and (consequently) new, competitive workplaces.

The strategic plan also includes daring and innovative projects like building of the biggest solar power station in Slovenia with its power of 1MW. All legal-formal activities, documents and licences have already been successfully acquired and prepared for its realization in the near future.
